Transvaal Lodge No. 1747 (EC), consecrated on 13 June 1878, is one of the founding lodges of the District Grand Lodge of South Africa, North. Born during a time of great change, it has stood as a pillar of English Freemasonry in Pretoria for nearly 150 years. Through wars, rebuilding, and growth, the Lodge has upheld its values of Integrity, Friendship, Respect, and Service — continuing to unite Brethren in fellowship and moral purpose from its home at The Willows Masonic Centre.

1878
Transvaal Lodge is consecrated amid the political turbulence of the late 19th century. The first meetings take place in Pretoria under the guidance of dedicated founding Brethren.
1906
After a period of rapid growth and reconstruction following regional conflicts, the Lodge dedicates new premises in St Andries Street — marking a rebirth of fellowship and stability.
1981
The Lodge transitions to The Willows complex, investing in a purpose-built Masonic Centre designed to unite Pretoria Lodges and strengthen community bonds.
Today
Transvaal Lodge continues its proud legacy of nearly 150 years, fostering friendship, learning, and service at The Willows Masonic Centre in Pretoria.
